Frequently Asked Questions & Support

I am an accepted Creative User, what are the suggested specs for images as I update my portfolio?

Making sure that your portfolio is update and includes a good sampling of your professional work is one of the most crucial factors that will determine whether or not businesses will want to click on your profile and potentially invite you to apply to or submit for their gig. Not to mention, you can’t even apply or submit for a gig without a completed profile and portfolio.

When creating projects and/or otherwise uploading images to your profile, here’s some guidelines that will help:

  • Use high-res photos for best results.  If the quality of your images are not good, they won’t look good displayed on your GG Network profile either.
  • Use the right proportions.  Your images are displayed at 1440px width in the detailed view and 300px width in the list view.
  • Especially if you’re not a photographer, use the project functionality and create commentary to go with your project. Businesses looking for creative talent need to know what your role was and the more detail they have the better.
  • If you’re adding a video URL to a project, don’t forget that you need to add an image first.  This initial image functions like your title card and is what comes up in search and elsewhere.

And if you have any issues, you can always reach out to support@girlgaze.com. Good luck!!

I’m a Creative who was accepted into the Girlgaze Network, what do I need to know about setting up my profile and how do I start getting access to gigs?

In order to ensure that you come up in search results and that you’re able to view and apply to jobs and opportunities, you need to make sure that you’ve completed your portfolio.  That means making sure that you have at least 3 projects uploaded and you complete your bio, skills and other background information, or businesses will not be able to find you and you will not be able to apply to opportunities.  Overall, it’s important that you present your work in the best possible light, so definitely give your portfolio an overall review.

Remember, there are jobs and opportunities on the platform that you can apply to directly, but both our team at Girlgaze, as well as Company subscribers on the Girlgaze Network, are always browsing and searching.  You never know when you might get contacted directly for a job.  So stay on your toes, and make sure that your portfolio stays up to date.  Also, make sure you are regularly checking your email to see if a Company has contacted you directly.

Keeping your portfolio complete and up to date is critical to the health of the platform and community.  Not to mention that we have a long wait list.  Our community and creative advisory team regularly audits the platform and to the extent that your portfolio is incomplete, it may be removed, so please keep it updated.

How do I get featured on the Girlgaze’s Instagram, Girlgaze’s homepage and other social platforms?

We absolutely love featuring the work of our extraordinary creative community on our platforms as much as we possibly can.  It helps us make sure that as many people and companies know how amazing our community is and that they need to hire you all ASAP.

If you are a creative member of the Girlgaze Network we regularly feature content that you make available in your portfolio on our platforms and in marketing and promotional materials. Make sure that your portfolio is up-to-date at all time.  Our creative advisors are looking regularly for amazing new work to feature.

If you are not a Creative on the Girlgaze Network, go ahead and apply here.  Acceptance is not guaranteed.

Additionally, if you’re on Instagram, you’re welcome to add #girlgaze to your Instagram posts and they’ll will also be submitted for consideration as well!  Keep in mind, however, that if you aren’t a Girlgaze Network Creative, you will be required to create a portfolio before you will be featured.

I am a Creative that applied for the Girlgaze Network and was placed on the waitlist, when will I know whether I was accepted?

As you can imagine, we have received a tremendous amount of interest in the Girlgaze Network, so please be patient with us.  In the meantime, if you haven’t been accepted yet, please make sure that the Instagram account and/or personal website that you used at sign up includes a sampling of your professional work, and that they are not just your personal platforms.  We may not have enough info.  ADDITIONALLY, ACCEPTANCE IS NOT GUARANTEED.  If you are accepted, you will receive a welcome email with all the information you need to get started.

And if you have any other questions, please contact support@girlgaze.com.

Does Girlgaze do larger partnerships with companies and brands?

We are always interested in larger partnerships with select companies and brands provided that they ultimately build opportunities for our community, empower change and help us advance our mission.  Girlgaze itself is not an agency or a production company.  Potential partnerships are assessed on a case by case, and we view them truly as that, 50/50 partnerships, where all parties are aligned from a mission perspective, and want to see all parties benefit.

If you are a company or brand with an idea and would like to potentially partner with us, please reach out to sales@girlgaze.com and a member of the Girlgaze partnerships team will reach out.
